A memorable season on the volleyball court came to an end for the Hoopa Warriors on Tuesday night, as they fell 25-17, 25-12, 25-15 at No. 5 seed Sonoma Academy in the opening round of the North Coast Section Division-5 playoffs.

Consistent senior Savannah Colegrove had another impressive all-around night for the No. 12 Warriors, as did teammate Nae-rew Martin, who stepped up at the service line.

Despite the playoff exit, the season will be remembered for the way the Warriors battled back to clinch a share of the Little 4 championship with conference rival St. Bernard’s.

“I’m so proud of these girls for the season they put in and all the hard work and dedication they had this season,” head coach Amber McCovey-Billings said. “Our school is so proud of them.”

Nalani Colegrove also closed out the season strong with a good game in the back row, while teammate Tannah O’Rourke “did great for us cleaning up a lot of the tips,” according to the coach.

Bethany Masten, Jewely Bibiancos and Diamond Bibancos all had a good night serving the ball, while Tatianna Colegrove did a good job defensively.

The Warriors defeated St. Bernard’s on the final night of conference play to be crowned co-champs of the Little 4.
