It’s a whole new season for the Arcata Tigers now, as they get set for the North Coast Section playoffs in boys soccer.
On Wednesday night, head coach John Davidson and his team honored their senior class before their regular season finale against McKinleyville, which they won 3-0.
The Tigers have been the second best team in the H-DNL this season and will be eager for another shot at Big 5 champs Fortuna in the postseason, which kicks off next week.
“We are gonna push it into another gear for playoffs,” Davidson said. “Team morale is high.”
Ethan Gyenis and Kayin Kloberdanz were involved in all three goals on Wednesday.
Gyenis scored two and assisted on the other, while Kloberdanz had one goal and two assists.
The senior class included Everett Namen, Matias Severn and Aiden Shelton.
“The seniors have been instrumental in instilling responsibility, integrity and teamwork into our program,” David said. “Very honored and proud to have them give so much to the school, the league and the team.”
