The Ferndale Wildcats were missing three starters for their Little 4 finale in volleyball on Tuesday night, but that didn’t prevent them from closing out strong.
The Ferndale girls defeated South Fork in straight sets, 25-19, 25-15, 25-15.
The consistent Kyla Albee continued to impress in the win, finishing with 10 aces on 25 serves, as well as 10 kills and a block.
Freshman Jordan Soderman also had a big night, finishing with two aces on 13 serves and dishing out 10 assists.
Tia Henrikson also played well, finishing with five kills and 13 assists.
Assistant coach Ron Lewis had some special words of praise for the Cubs.
“I’ve got to give South Fork some credit,” he said after Tuesday’s match. “They were a determined and scrappy opponent tonight. They didn’t give up and they were determined and scrappy the whole game.”
The Wildcats closed out the Little 4 on a roll with three victories in their final four matches.
Ferndale plays a non-league match at Potter Valley on Thursday night.
