The Big 4 gets under way this week with a new format and four teams who will fancy their chances to win on any given weekend.
On Friday night, Eureka (1-2) travels to Fortuna (3-1), and on Saturday, St. Bernard’s (2-2) hosts Del Norte (2-1).
This year, the conference features a home-and-away format, giving each team six league games.
Interestingly, all four teams are also in Division 5 for this year’s North Coast Section playoffs, giving the conference some added intrigue.
So which team do you think will win?
Will it be the Warriors with their relentless physical run game?
Or perhaps the Loggers, who have most of their players back from a team that was undefeated locally in the spring?
Or maybe the Huskies, who have won three of their first four games and always get better as the season goes on?
Or a St. Bernard’s team that has improved in leaps and bounds since the spring?
Let us know who you think will win this year’s championship, and we’ll publish the results later in the week.
