The McKinleyville girls soccer team is on a roll.
The Panthers posted their fourth victory in just five games this season on Monday, defeating Ferndale 6-0.
In their five games, which included an exciting 1-1 tie with Eureka last week, the Panthers have outscored their opponents by a combined 34-2, including three shutouts.
And even taking into consideration the relative quality of their opposing teams so far, no one can deny it’s been an outstanding start to the new campaign for the Mack girls.
The attacking combo of Thea Trout and Soffia Reyes has been the most impressive of the H-DNL teams, with the duo already combining for 23 goals and 14 assists.
Trout netted her fourth hat trick of the season against the Wildcats, while assisting on two more goals, while Reyes scored once and had two assists.
Remarkably, Reyes, who scored a brilliant goal against Eureka last week, already has double digits in goals (10) and assists (11).
Senior defender Brea Ferreira also had a milestone performance against the Cats, scoring her first-ever high school goal in the win on a nice give-and-go with Trout.
Sophomore Leah Circe also scored in the win, as the Panthers took control of the game early with five first-half goals.
