Loggers forced to postpone weekend game

By Ray Hamill — The Eureka Loggers have been forced to postpone this weekend’s football game at Windsor as the team continues to deal with the effects of COVID.

The game will now be played on the weekend of September 23/24.

This is the second straight week the Loggers have been forced to back out of a game, after canceling last week’s scheduled opener at home to Foothill.

Several players have been missing as a result of positive tests within the squad and contact tracing.

And while the players have gradually been returning, according to head coach Andrew Haraldson, a big chunk of them have missed a significant number of practices.

“We’re looking to get back on track with more players returning and getting healthy by next week,” he said.

The Loggers will now open the season at home to Ukiah next week.

They were scheduled to have a bye on the weekend of Sept. 23/24, which left the date open to reschedule the Windsor game.
