With the season winding down, Cody Winchel set a new track record in the Legends division at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday night.

Winchel qualified with a new record of 17.672 and would go on to take the 35-lap main event, ahead of Brandon White in second, with Chris Lawrence in third, Tyler Avelar in fourth and the impressive Malessa Miles in fifth.

In the Roadrunners division, Dylan Ford took the checkered flag in the 25-lap main event, with Jeremiah Martin, Nick Ford, Shawn Wildman and Solomon Kessenich rounding out the top five.

Brian Murrell, Jr., placed first in the Mini Stocks main event, pulling out to a huge lead early and making it count.

Jarrett Mayo, Gary Klinetobe, Gannon Cyphers and Colton Kinsey rounded out the top five.

In the Bombers division, meanwhile, Ed Rasmussen and Tyler Krupa were neck and neck for the first half of the main event, before the latter took the lead and went on to win the race.

Jordan Krupa, Raquel Krupa and Steve Kimberling rounded out the top five.

The 2021 season is expected to go out with a bang with a pair of two-day events scheduled for September.

Next up, on Friday September 10 and Saturday September 11, is the Legends Of The Redwoods Shootout.

Friday’s racing will feature Legends, Bombers, Mini Stocks and Roadrunners while Saturday’s events will have the addition of the Late Models and the Upstate Bomber Series.

RAR officials are expecting a large car count for the Legends division.
