There was no shortage of offense over the opening two days at the 12-year-olds district Little League All-Star tournament in Fortuna.

On Saturday, the McKinleyville All-Stars got the better of Klamath Trinity 15-0 to improve to 2-0 in tournament play, after opening with a 14-1 win over Arcata on Friday.

McKinleyville will now play Redwood Empire (1-0) on Monday night, after the RELL All-Stars opened their account with a 16-4 win over Eel River early Saturday afternoon.

Eel River dropped to 1-1 with the loss, after previously beating Southern Humboldt 19-9 on Friday.

Through the opening four games, the six teams competing have accounted for a combined 78 runs, including 29 by McKinleyville alone.

The tournament continues on Sunday with a pair of elimination games.

Southern Humboldt (0-1) plays Klamath Trinity (0-1) at noon, followed by Arcata (0-1) and Eel River at 2:30 p.m.

The winners of those games will play each other on Monday at 4:30 p.m., before McKinleyville and RELL meet in the winners bracket at 7 p.m.

The tournament runs through Wednesday at least, and the winning team will host the section tournament against teams from out of the area in two weeks.
