Balanced performance leads Huskies past the Cubs

The Fortuna Huskies quickly got back to winning ways on the basketball court on Wednesday night.

One day after losing to neighbors and rivals, Ferndale, the Fortuna boys beat South Fork 72-62.

The Cubs came out fast and led early, but the Huskies responded with a big second quarter, outscoring South Fork 27-16 for the period to lead by nine at halftime.

Jaden Kelley led a balanced performance from Fortuna, scoring a team-high 16 points and pulling down four rebounds.

Bo Cox also continued to impress, finishing with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Matt Berti and Jordin Bourne each chipped in 10 points, while Branson Gans had six.

Oliver Tatton led the way offensively for South Fork, scoring a game-high 19 points.

Alex Harding added 14 points, while Tanner Curran and Ryder York each scored eight.

With the win, the Huskies improved to 4-2, while the Cubs are now 3-4.

The Huskies also won the JV game, 83-72.
