The Fortuna girls improved to 7-0 in girls basketball on Wednesday night with one of their most impressive wins so far.

The Huskies got the better of a tough Del Norte team, 48-42, handing the Warriors just their second loss of the year.

Isobel Crosswhite continued to impress in the win, leading the Fortuna girls offensively with 12 points, while teammate Isobel Mostovoy added 11 points and Gracie Betts 10.

Defensively, the Huskies held Del Norte standout Jadence Clifton to 15 points.

In what was a back-and-forth game, the Huskies led by seven after the opening quarter, but trailed by one at halftime.

A big fourth quarter, however, in which they outscored the Warriors 12-7, helped seal the win.

The Huskies close out the season against Arcata this weekend.

Wednesday’s scheduled game between St. Bernard’s and Hoopa was canceled because of COVID protocols.

A young St. Bernard’s team has a bye this weekend and closes out the season 3-4, including a very impressive win over Del Norte.
