By Ray Hamill — Five teams have added some honorable mentions to the boys soccer all-league honors, which were announced last week.
After a shortened season because of the pandemic, the H-DNL did not crown any league champions or name MVPs, with each team getting two all-league selections.
There was, however, some confusion over whether there would be honorable mentions included as well, with several of the boys coaches unaware of the option.
Since then, five of the six boys teams have listed their honorable mentions for the season.
Undefeated Fortuna has five honorable mentions, including Edgar Herrera, Oscar Avendano, Angel Ornelas, Jack Honsal and Junior Cruz.
For Eureka, Tomas Paoli, David Parra and Ian Savage are each included, along with McKinleyville’s Dustyn Huneke.
Del Norte’s Jin Vue, Evan Drown, Edwin Zepeda, Isidro Montanez, Rodopho Ramirez and Yahir Alanis each also got an honorable mention for their standout seasons, as did Arcata’s Mathias Severn and Everett Namen.
