Arcata Tigers continue to win with solid pitching

Vincent Agliolo pitched six strong innings at Del Norte on Wednesday, as the Arcata Tigers stretched their winning streak to five straight in H-DNL baseball.

Agliolo allowed just two hits and one walk. while striking out six, as the Tigers won 14-7 and improved to 7-2.

“Our pitchers are out there throwing strikes and letting them put the ball in play, and our defense was pretty good for the first six innings,” Arcata head coach Troy Ghisetti said. “(Agliolo) did an excellent job for us tonight.”

Nick Parker continued to impress at the plate, finishing with two hits, including a double, as did Mason Nichols, who also had a double. Alex Gorge and Miles Oliver each also had two hits.

Agliolo, Chet Keasey, Elam Wright, Riley Mosher, Cedar Kline and Noah Waterhouse each also had a base hit.

A young Del Norte team dropped to 2-8.

William Bommelyn had two hits in the loss, while Jared Dixon, Ray Rusgrove, Brody Mattz and Daylen O’Reilley each had one.

The Warriors rallied late with six runs in the bottom of the seventh, but that was as close as they would come.
