The Hoopa girls continued to roll in H-DNL softball on Tuesday evening, holding on to beat visiting Fortuna 5-4.
It was the Warriors’ second win over Big 5 opposition this season, as they improved to 5-0.
Junior pitcher Savannah Colegrove had another good outing against the dangerous Fortuna bats, but had to withstand a late Huskies rally for the win, as the visitors scored four runs in the top of the seventh.
Colegrove allowed eight hits and three walks in seven innings, while striking out eight.
She also had a productive day at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a double.
Tatianna Colegrove and Beyonce Bussell each also had two hits, including a double, while Nae-rew Martin had a triple.
Libby Johnston took the loss in the circle despite a solid performance, allowing six hits and no walks in seven innings.
Johnston also had a big day at the plate, finishing with three hits, including a double, while teammate Zoe Dewberry also had three hits, including a double.
Hoopa also has beaten Arcata this season.
With the loss, the Huskies are now 3-4.
