Eureka bats remain hot in shutout win

The Eureka Loggers improved to 4-0 with an 11-0 win over visiting South Fork in H-DNL baseball at Bomber Field on Tuesday.

And once again Eureka won with a balanced offense, with eight different players accounting for the nine team hits.

In-form senior Parker Rodgers led the way at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and two RBIs.

Jackson Giacone also had a base hit and two RBIs, while Hayden Bode had a base hit, two RBIs and two runs.

Myles Standish got the win on the mound, pitching two innings and striking out five, while allowing just one hit, his first on the season.

Ethan Pesch, Bode and Connor Johnson each also saw time on the mound, with the four Eureka pitchers combining for a two-hitter.

Zac Anderson, Keenan Morris, Johnson, Brayden Youkey and Rogan Bode each also had a hit in the win.

Anderson also scored three runs.

The Loggers’ scheduled game against Ferndale on Wednesday has been canceled.

Next up, South Fork (1-3) hosts Ferndale on Saturday and Eureka hosts Del Norte on Wednesday of next week.
