We will, of course, find out for sure who the top team on the North Coast is on Friday night, when Nos. 1 and 2 go head-to-head in a highly anticipated season finale.

Elsewhere there are some changes in our top five, with Ferndale edging Arcata in another thriller on Friday night and moving up to No. 4 as a result.
The Wildcats would have competed for an NCS championship this year if there was one, and pound for pound they have been about as impressive as anyone on the North Coast over the past month.
Del Norte, meanwhile, remains at No. 3 because they played Fortuna a lot closer than the Wildcats.
One team not included in the top five but deserving of some mention is the South Fork Cubs, who rolled over McKinleyville on Friday night.
1 — Fortuna (4-0), Huskies will face their biggest challenge of the season on Friday night
2 — Eureka (4-0), the Loggers are improving week to week and can prove they’re No. 1 with a win at Fortuna
3 — Del Norte (1-2), two tough losses for the injury-plagued Warriors, but they’re still a legitimate No. 3
4 — Ferndale (3-1), the Wildcats’ victory over Arcata sees them move ahead of the Tigers
5 — Arcata (1-3), so many close losses for the young Tigers, who should be a force to be reckoned with in the fall
