Cappa tops fan voting; Pro Bowl rosters to be released today

By Ray Hamill — Fan voting for this season’s NFL Pro Bowl closed out late last week, with former Humboldt State star Alex Cappa leading the way among NFC guards.

Cappa, in his third year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finished with 95,058 votes.

The fan voting accounts for one third of all votes, with players and coaches also voting for the honor.

The final rosters will be announced this afternoon on the NFL Network.

This season’s Pro Bowl was scheduled for Las Vegas in late January, but the game itself will not take place because of COVID-19 restrictions.

Instead, the NFL, will host a week-long virtual event to honor the players.

Cappa enjoyed four big years at HSU before being drafted by the Bucs in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led all players with 342,353 votes.
