By Ray Hamill — Local MMA star Orion Cosce will have to wait a little longer for his UFC debut.
The Humboldt County native was scheduled to fight Nicolas Dalby at UFC 255 next weekend, but has been forced to pull out late due to an undisclosed injury.
The news comes just days after Orion’s brother Louis was added to the card.
Louis, who is 7-0 and will be making his UFC debut, will fight Hong Kong’s Sasha Palatnikov in a welterweight showdown.
Orion, who is also 7-0 as a pro fighter, announced the news on social media.
“Injuries happen to the best of us. I was definitely more than ready for this upcoming fight,” he said. “Training felt great. Body and mind were great. Weight was on point.
“Nothing more disappointing as an athlete than to train your ass off and be told your injuries are gonna make you pause for a bit.”
There was no immediate word on when Orion will return to the cage.
Dalby will fight Daniel Rodriquez instead.
