Humboldt State Athletics Director Jane Teixeira has expressed her appreciation to the local community in the wake of the recent annual Lumberjacks sports auction.
This year’s event was held online late last month for four days instead of in-person because of COVID-19 and has raised $30,995 as of Friday.
“HSU is surrounded by so many individuals who support its mission,” Teixeira said in a press release. “Athletics is an integral part of student success and we are very grateful for all who took part in this unique sports auction.”
All funds raised at the annual auction go towards student athlete scholarships.
“Even though we weren’t able to have the traditional evening that so many have come to enjoy, the pivot to a virtual format provided opportunities to support Lumberjack Athletics,” Teixeira added. “We look forward to returning to the fun, in-person event in 2021.”
Among the items auctioned was an autographed Tom Brady football.
