By Ray Hamill — The Hoopa Warriors are still in the market for a new head coach in football.

Contrary to a report published on Humboldt Sports last week, the position remains vacant for now.

Last year’s coach Sonny Ryles has stepped down after just one year in charge due to personal commitments, and school AD Jeff Landry said on Monday that as of right now the vacancy has yet to be filled.

Landry, who has been an assistant coach with the team, has recommended the opening to a couple of individuals he feels will fit the role, but stressed the school has yet to make a decision.
