By Ray Hamill — The College of the Redwoods women aren’t resting on their laurels.
And after winning a first conference championship in basketball in 40 years this past season, they’re eager to follow that up with more success next year.
Head coach Jain Tuey and assistant Darren Turpin have been busy on the recruiting trail, and expect to announce some key additions in the near future.
This year’s team featured a core group of talented freshmen, most of whom are expected to return next year.
But Tuey also expects to add some key players to an already impressive roster, and has her eyes on a few local stars, including players at McKinleyville and St. Bernard’s.
“And we’re talking to others,” Tuey added.
