By Ray Hamill — The Eureka Loggers and Arcata Tigers will renew their rivalry on the football field this fall, when they face off in a season-opening showdown at the Redwood Bowl.
The game, set for August 28, is the first between the two programs since 2017, the last season they both played in the Big 5.
The game is one of several on the road for the Loggers in 2020.
The team currently has nine games scheduled, including six of their opening seven away from home.
Eureka is scheduled to open with three straight road games at Arcata, Windsor and Del Norte, before hosting Montgomery.
The Loggers then have three more road games at Ukiah, Shasta and Fortuna, the latter of which will be their Big 4 opener.
The Loggers also will play Del Norte twice this fall, once in a non-conference showdown and once in the Big 4.
They close out the regular season with back-to-back home conference games against St. Bernard’s and Del Norte.
Head coach Andrew Haraldson is hoping to add a 10th game to the schedule.
