A couple of former H-DNL players had a big day as the Shasta Knights exploded offensively at Siskiyous on Friday, winning 16-3 in baseball.

Arcata’s Jaden Gorge has been one of the bright spots for a struggling Knights team, and was influential once again in Friday’s big win.

Gorge, a member of last year’s Tigers’ NCS championship winning team, finished 4-for-6 with two RBIs and two runs scored, and also had a stolen base.

Former Fortuna standout Cody Emmons also had a big say in the win.

The sophomore infielder finished 2-for-6 with a double, and drove in three runs, as well as scoring twice.

Check out video highlights of Emmons’ three-RBI hit here, as well as one of Gorge’s hits and a second Emmons hit.

Del Norte’s Cole Harper also had a hit in the win, while Eureka’s Brady Munson pitched one hitless inning in relief.

Another former Arcata player, Austin Kadle, also made an appearance at the plate, giving the H-DNL five different players in the game for Shasta.

The Knights, who are 5-16 overall and 3-4 in the Golden Valley Conference, were scheduled to play two more games at Siskiyous on Saturday, but the doubleheader was postponed until Sunday.

College of the Redwoods, meanwhile continued to struggle, dropping three games at Feather River on Thursday and Friday to stretch their losing streak to 12 straight.

The Corsairs, who are winless in nine conference games, lost 17-3, 4-2 and 16-6.

CR is now 7-15 on the season after a 6-0 start.

The Corsairs will host Siskiyous in a three-game series next weekend.
