The Fortuna girls are doing something right when it comes to basketball.

On Friday night they capped a season for the ages with three wins at Arcata, with the varsity JV and freshmen teams all victorious.

The sweep completes a treble of league titles, including undefeated campaigns for the JV and freshmen teams.

The varsity won their game 51-44, with the JVs winning 39-24 and the freshman 51-26.

All three teams have been close to unstoppable all season long, posting a combined record of 62-9 (23-1 in the Big 5), with all three winning at least 20 games.

The varsity girls secured their league title last week, the program’s first in an estimated 35 years, so long ago no one seems to remember exactly when.

And the breakthrough championship comes in the same school year the Fortuna girls won their first-ever H-DNL crown in soccer.

The varsity girls’ 22 wins are also the most since the Huskies went 25-5 in 2009, a mark they could very well top this season.

The JVs, meanwhile, are 20-3 and the freshmen 20-4.
