The College of the Redwoods baseball team suffered its first loss of the new season on Friday, falling 5-2 at Laney.
Chandler Jones took the loss on the mound, allowing three earned runs in seven innings work, while striking out three.
At the plate, Roman Garcia was 2-for-4 with a double and Dylan Short was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Connor Parnell, Gannon Cyphers, Caleb Ruiz, Patrick Morgan and Brock Dewitt each also had a hit in the loss, including a double by Morgan.
The Corsairs, who are now 6-1, will play a doubleheader at Modesto on Saturday.
