By Ray Hamill — Ashley Quigley and Bree Northern led the way on Saturday as the College of the Redwoods women defeated visiting Lassen 83-78.

Both players were instrumental as the surging Corsairs showed no signs of slowing down in their bid for a Golden Valley Conference championship.

Head coach Jain Tuey has built a quality team of mostly local players, and a team that is now 17-4 on the season and riding high at 5-1 in the Golden Valley Conference, tied with Butte atop the standings.

The win avenged the Corsairs’ only conference loss this season, and was achieved in front of another large home crowd.
