Ferndale girls edge South Fork in L4 showdown

The Ferndale Wildcats ended a three-game losing streak and posted their second win in the Little 4, getting the better of the Cubs at South Fork, 42-31 in girls basketball on Thursday night.

The Cats took control of a tight game with a big third quarter, outscoring the home team 15-3 for the period to open up a nine-point lead.

With the win, Ferndale is now 2-2 in the Little 4.

South Fork, meanwhile, dropped its third straight game and fell to 0-3 in the Little 4.

Kaylee Cotter had a big game for the Cubs, scoring 14, while Summer Contreras added seven points and Macy Yarbrough six.

Michaela Mcmahan added nine rebounds for the Cubs, while Jade Johns had eight rebounds and four assists.

No individual stats were available for Ferndale.
