Alexia Thrower continued to lead the way as the Humboldt State women won their sixth straight game in basketball on Thursday night to improve to 7-1.
Thrower scored a game-high 25 points in a 73-70 win at Cal Poly Pomona, while teammate Gabrielle Carbajal added 14 points.
The win also lifts the Jacks to 3-0 in conference play.
Humboldt State held Cal Poly Pomona to just 37 percent shooting from the field, including just 15 percent from 3-point range.
“It’s tough to win in this conference and even more so on the road,” HSU head coach Michelle Bento-Jackson said. “I thought the team did a great job of staying focused and handling some difficult situations.”
The Jacks will play at Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday night.
