By Ray Hamill — The house that Daniel built was in full bloom on Friday night.

Playing in front of a loud and enthusiastic crowd at Fortuna High, head coach Daniel Holmes and his Huskies wrote the latest chapter in their recent dynasty, claiming a third NCS boys soccer title in four years, while capping an undefeated season that saw them claim a seventh straight H-DNL title.

If that’s not a dynasty, I’m not sure what is, and Holmes deserves a ton of credit for what he has built at Fortuna.

“Hats off to the boys, they make me look good,” he said afterwards.

The Huskies had numerous chances to win the game in regulation, as the video highlights show.

Check out the multiple chances and game highlights, as well as the postgame celebrations.

  1. Wrong, the house that Laszlo built…

Holmes just escaped from Alcatraz in Eureka to relocate to the beautiful home built and maintained for over 30 years by Lesku…

Daniel is remodeling with the influx of hard working families’ kids…Eureka is a drug infested, government services hellhole…it is why athletes are a dying breed…good families are sprinting out of Eureka’s sewer lifestyle…

  2. Credits are allowed when we see how FHS matches up against Montgomery or Terra Linda or Tamalpais….

… The Fall Soccer season is “watered down”, but some credit to hand out to be beating beatable teams…with the lack of competition in Fall now, the HDNL is the strongest league when it was formerly the second weakest…

Betcha the Justin Mora led teams of FHS win NCS too back in the day for Lazlo with this watered down fall competition…

How can a program feel good for not being held to the same standards as past years teams regarding playoff field of competition… yes, the team deserves the reward for hard work, but as a player, travel soccer is more skilled, then humboldt adults ruined that too in order to curry favor toward public schools because higher level of skilled players were avoiding the high school teams as they offered nothing for skilled players…

The championship games today are no better than a second round game from yesteryear… but don’t tell the kids of Humboldt County that it’s adults are making it easy for them kids to feel good by not participating in the greater field of teams…anything to win, including elimination of competition…

Humboldt is a backward thinking area for sure, full of druid types who are really mischievous scoundrels…
