The Northern Humboldt Giants fell to Napa for the second straight day at the Chico Annual Father’s Day Summer Slam on Wednesday, losing 9-2 and closing out the four-day tournament with a record of 2-3.
The Giants defeated Gridley to open tournament play on Sunday, before barely losing to Chico 5-4 on Monday, and then splitting a pair of games on Tuesday, falling to Napa (11-2) and bouncing back to defeat Grass Valley (11-3).
In their tourney finale, the Giants kept things close until the fourth inning, when Napa scored five times to pull away.
The Giants got five hits, one each from Vincent Agliolo, Kyler Carr, Kaden Ritter, Drew Viznor and Jake Reeser.
Carr took the loss on the mound, allowing eight hits and five walks in four innings, while striking out four.
Price and Agliolo each pitched in relief.
