Moulton the main man at Redwood Acres again

Photos by Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – The Mid-City Motor World Late Models were in action at the Redwood Acres Raceway on Saturday.

Mic Moulton took the checkered flag in the Mid-City Motor World Late Models main event Saturday night.

Moulton, who came into the night just 12 points ahead of David Henderson in the season points standings, held off his closest challenger by .96 of a second for the win in the 60-lap race.

Moulton has won all but one main event this summer, with just one weekend of racing remaining. He now leads Henderson by 15 points in the season standings.

Scott Baker in the #5 car finished eighth in Saturday’s Late Models main event.

Henderson won the second heat race, with Moulton placing second with the same time. Luke Hall won the first heat.

In the other action at the local raceway on Saturday, Bandoleros points leader Lane Anderson won his main event, while Tyler Peach held off Brent Mack to take first in the Northcoast Lighting & Electric Legends main event.

In the Fortuna Wheel & Brake Bombers division, Wyatt Roach took the main event, just 0.142 of a second ahead of Brandon White, who was driving the #44 car of points leader Jim Redd.

Brian Murrell Jr. won the main event in the Humboldt Hydroponics Mini Stocks, ahead of Brett Murrell, while season points leader Nick Ford took both main events in the Community Compass First Roadrunners division.

Saturday was Drivers Appreciation Night at the local raceway.
