The hottest team in the H-DNL continued to roll on Wednesday evening on the final day of the regular season.
The Del Norte girls travelled to South Fork and came away with a 1-0 win, stretching their unbeaten streak to 12 straight games.
During that impressive run, which dates back to Sept. 9, the Warriors have not allowed more than one goal in any game and have shut out their opponents six times.
Also in action on Wednesday, the Ferndale girls got a boost ahead of next week’s North Coast Section playoffs with a 5-1 win over Eureka, while the Del Norte boys shut out South Fork 4-0 and the Eureka boys won 4-0 at Ferndale.
Levi Grossman, Tytan Blair-Zimmer, Bryce Pope and Landon Larson all scored for the Loggers, who closed out the regular season with a record of 11-8-1.
Jerome Everta had two assists in the win, while teammate Mansoor Khan had one.
“I thought we played well today and had good energy,” Eureka heard coach Tommy Learmouth said. “We got everyone in the game today and were able to look at some different formations and tactics for playoffs.”
The win will give Eureka a boost ahead of the playoffs and was a good response after a 4-0 loss at Arcata on Saturday.
“I’m proud of them and how they handled today after a few letdowns over the last week,” Learmouth said. “We now shift our focus to playoffs and will work to be ready for our opening-round game wherever it may be.”
Ferndale closed out 1-13-3.
At South Fork, meanwhile, the Del Norte girls edged the host Cubs to continue their unbeaten run.
The in-form Warriors will be a dangerous opponent for any team they meet in the postseason.
Their offense has managed two or more goals just twice in the last 10 games, but their defense has been one of the stingiest in the H-DNL this fall.

Goalkeeper Avery Ritter has played a key role in that.
“Again, Avery was super important, and our defense was working together,” head coach Shawn Eckart said.
Senior Lillie Franklin scored the only gal of the game midway through the opening half and that would prove to be enough.
Junior Jaden Bennett continues to be hugely influential for the team in midfield and has been one of the most consistently impressive players in the Redwood League over the last month, while alongside her senior Elizabeth Lopez has also impressed and is playing with the determination of a player who wants to close out her high school career with a championship.
Liberty Chilcott also is playing some of her best soccer at an important time.
“Liberty Chilcott has really become a super fast winger for us,” Eckart said.
With the win, the Warriors improved to 8-3-8, while South Fork dropped to 3-17-1.
The NCS brackets and seeds will be announced on Sunday with the action getting under way early next week.
