A pair of College of the Redwoods wrestlers have been honored for their achievements on the mats and in the classroom this winter.

Isaiah Bell and Damian Freixas have both been named to the inaugural CCCAA Men’s Scholar All-American Team by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. To qualify for the prestigious award, a wrestler must have at least a 3.0 GPA and must have qualified for the state postseason.

Bell, a former Arcata Tiger, has a 3.838 GPA and competed in the regional tournament, while Freixas, a former Eureka Logger, has a 4.0 GPA and also qualified for this year’s regional tournament.
