Get ready for a huge showdown in Golden Valley Conference men’s basketball on Thursday between College of the Redwoods and Feather River.
On Saturday afternoon, the two conference frontrunners took care of business to remain deadlocked atop the standings.
CR welcomed College of the Siskiyous to Eureka and own 70-57, while Feather River won at Shasta 91-73.
Both teams are now 3-0 in conference as they get set for next week’s big showdown in Quincy.
CR, which has won four straight games, improved to 14-7 overall, while Feather River, which has won three straight, is also 14-7 on the season.
Thursday’s game is set for 7 p.m., and the CR men will also play at Lassen next Saturday.
The Cal Poly Humboldt men were also in action on Saturday and made it two wins over Chico State in three days.
This time, the two teams faced off in Chico and the Jacks prevailed 96-77.
With the win, the Humboldt men improved to 7-3 in conference and 9-7 overall.
The Jacks remain third in the conference standings, one win behind second-placed Cal State Dominguez Hills.
