It was the first goal the team gave up in four games.

The Jacks closed out the season with a record of 8-6-8.

The Cal Poly Pomona women, who won the California Collegiate Athletic Association regular season championship, improved to 15-2-3.

Friday’s win avenged a loss to Humboldt in the semifinals of the CCAA tournament last Friday, which was one of just two losses for the Broncos all season.

The Broncos will advance to play Simon Fraser in the second round of the West Region tournament.

The NCAA playoff appearance was the first for Humboldt since 1996, and their CCAA tournament championship was the programs’ first ever.

And they succeeded with some outstanding defense all season long.

In their 22 games, the Jacks had 13 shutouts and only allowed goals in nine games.

They posted three straight shutouts in three CCAA tournament games last week.
