
Parity is alive and well in H-DNL girls golf.
The league hosted a fourth round of action at the Eureka Municipal Golf Course on Thursday, with a fourth different golfer taking the victory.
Del Norte’s Bria Larson paced the field with a round of 102, barely edging McKinleyville’s Ingrid Monaghan by just one stroke for the win.
The victory also puts Larson back in the race for the season championship.
Eureka’s Hailey Forster, who won the opening round of league play, shot a 107 for the third best score on the day, followed by Del Norte teammates Jaylee Keeling and Taylor Horner, who each carded a 110.
Forster still leads the season standings with a combined score of 302, followed by Keeling (306), who had the low score last week in the third round of league action at Fortuna.
Larson (311) now sits third in the race for the championship, followed byEureka’s Sophia Zwald (325), Horner (339) and Monaghan (356).
Fortuna’s Macee Marquez (358) and Arcata’s Sabrina MacDonald (358) are tied for the seventh and final all-league spot with three rounds of H-DNL action remaining.
With three golfers placing in the top five on Thursday, Del Norte took the team win on the day with a score of 460, followed by Arcata (484), McKinleyville (492), Eureka (495) and Fortuna (559).
The team win was the third in four rounds of league play for the Warriors, who now hold a comfortable 84-stroke lead over second-placed Eureka in the race for the 2025 team championship.
Arcata sits third, just 25 stroke further back.
Zwald had the sixth best round of the day on Thursday with a 113, followed by MacDonald (116), Arcata’s Julie Omaha (118), and Arcata’s Hailey Pepper and McKinleyville’s Jaxin Bartoo, who tied for ninth with identical rounds of 123.
The next round of league action will take place at Beau Pre Golf Course in McKinleyville on Wednesday.
