The Crusaders look like they are still the team to beat in Little 4 volleyball, as they get set for a big showdown on Tuesday night.
Last week, the St. Bernard’s girls won their opening two conference matchups, defeating Ferndale in four sets on Tuesday and South Fork in three sets on Thursday.
The Crusaders beat the Cubs 25-11, 25-12, 27-25.
“The Crusaders played well in South Fork,” SB head coach Sejay Sarti said. “Every single player contributed to the win and it was fun to watch.”
Sarti also praised the serving of the South Fork players.
The game at South Fork kickstarted a three-game, three-day road trip.
On Friday, St. Bernard’s win at Point Arena, 25-18, 25-6, 25-18.
They closed out a busy few days at Fort Bragg on Saturday, losing 25-20, 23-25, 19-25, 24-26.
“The girls are still learning how to come out on fire rather than flat,” said the SB coach, who added, “I’m proud of the team as we continue on to league.”
The St. Bernard’s JVs also were in action on those three nights, getting the better of South Fork and Fort Bragg, but falling to Point Arena.
Tuesday night’s varsity game against Hoopa, which is 1-1 in the Little 4, is set for 6:30 p.m
