Not in our house.
That was the message from the Healdsburg Prune Packers on Thursday night in the Pacific Empire League championship series.
The Packers welcomed the Humboldt Crabs to Healdsburg for game two of the best-of-three series and looked fired up for the occasion.
The home team scored a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to open up a 6-2 lead and they never looked back after that, cruising to a 10-2 victory.
The win came just two days after the Packers dropped the series opener at the Arcata Ball Park 10-8 and tied the series.
Thursday’s win for the Packers sets up a winner-takes-all deciding game in Healdsburg on Friday night.
Myles Standish got the start on the mound for the Crabs and suffered his first loss of the summer.
Standish, a former Eureka Logger, threw four innings but gave up 10 hits and seven earned runs to a dangerous Packers lineup.
Standish is now 6-1 on the season.
The Crabs were out-hit 16-7 for the night.
The hard-hitting Packers remarkably hit five home runs by five different players.
Adam Enyart led the visitors at the plate and was 2-for-4, while Tate Medicoff added a double.
Keenan Morris, Tyler Howard, Jacob Pappas and Niko Lombardi each also had a hit in the win.
The Crabs scored a run in each of the first and third innings but were shut out after that.
Friday night’s game is set for 6 p.m.
The big showdown, as always, will be broadcast live on local radio (ESPN 107.3 FM and 1340 AM) and streamed live on the Humboldt Crabs YouTube channel.
