It was another exciting weekend at the Arcata ball Park for the Humboldt Crabs, who took a second league series from the Lincoln Potters thanks to another walk-off win on Saturday night.

After opening the three-game stand with a 14-10 win on Friday night, the Crabs rallied from a pair of deficits on Saturday night on the way to a 3-2 walk-off victory in 10 innings.

The Potters would respond with a dominating 14-1 win in the series finale on Sunday, but the damage had already been done.

The two weekend wins lifted the Crabs to 5-4 in the Pacific Empire League and 19-4 on the season, while the Potters are now 5-4 in league and 20-5 overall.

Four of the Potters’ five losses on the season have come against the Crabs in the past 10 days.

Trailing 2-1 late in Saturday’s game, the Crabs tied things up in the bottom of the eighth and would seal the victory when Timmy Reed scored in the bottom of the 10th.

Jonah Fragus and Kayden Kohlberg each pitched five innings for the Crabs, with the latter getting the win in relief.

Kohlberg gave up just two hits and two walks and struck out seven on his way to his second win of the summer.

Cameron Sewell and Reed each finished with a pair of hits in the win, including a fourth home run of the season for Sewell.

One of Reed’s hits was a double.

Sunday’s game was a lopsided affair with the visitors taking a four-run lead in the top of the third and adding five runs in the sixth to stretch the advantage to 10.

Five different Crabs pitchers saw time on the mound, including starter David Zazueta, who gave up eight hits and four walks in 4.1 innings and took the loss.

Five Crabs players combined for six hits in the loss, including the red-hot Keenan Morris.

The former Eureka Logger has been one of the team’s most consistent players this summer and finished 2-for-4 with his fifth double of the season.

Morris has hit successfully in 12 straight games and 18 of his last 19.

Nolan Hamilton also had a base hit for the Crabs.

Next up, the Crabs will welcome the Marysville Giants to the Arcata Ball Park for a two-game non-league midweek series, with game one set for Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

The Crabs will then entertain the Solano Mudcats in a three-game league series this coming weekend, with game one on Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
