Former Big 5 MVP McKenna Beach returned to the North Coast with a new team over the weekend and closed out the 2025 softball season with a bang.
The 2022 Eureka High graduate, who led the Loggers to a conference championship in her final high school season, was back in the area with Stanislaus State for a three-game series against Cal Poly Humboldt.
And despite her team losing all three games, the former H-DNL star enjoyed a productive weekend against a Lumberjacks program which she played for the past two seasons.
After going 0-for-2 in a 9-1 loss to open the weekend series on Saturday, Beach and her teammates pushed the Lumberjacks all the way in a 6-5 loss later in the day.
Beach finished 2-for-3 with an RBI in that game.
On Sunday, in her final game of the season, Beach closed out her junior campaign in style, hitting her sixth home run of the season in her first at-bat in a 9-6 defeat.
The former Logger, who also was a Big 5 MVP in basketball during her time at Eureka High, finished the game 3-for-4 with the home run, a double, two RBIs and three runs.
The Warriors closed out the season 13-35 (8-28 in conference), while the Jacks closed out 29-22 (18-18 in conference) and barely missed out on this week’s CCAA tournament on a tiebreaker after tying Cal State San Bernardino and Cal State Dominguez Hills for fifth best record in the final conference standings.
