Former Arcata Tiger Dakota Sanders continued to impress on the wrestling mats for College of the Redwoods over the weekend, as the Corsairs traveled to compete in their second tournament of the season.
The team headed to Modesto Community College on Saturday to wrestle in Modesto Invitational and Sanders led the way with a big day in his weight division.
The Arcata graduate placed fourth at 125 pounds and finished 5-1 in tournament action, improving to 10-2 on the season.
Sanders had to forfeit his third-place match because of the tournament match limit rule.
And he wasn’t the only former Arcata Tiger to compete for the CR men.
Brycen Collinson finished 1-2 in the heavyweight division before forfeiting out of the tournament in the quarterfinals because of injury.
Omar Green also competed for the team and was 1-2 at 133 pounds.
As a team, the CR men placed 11th out of 12 teams in the tournament.
