By Ray Hamill — Six H-DNL teams have been included in the North Coast Section softball playoffs after the brackets were announced on Saturday.

And we could see an all-local clash in the second round in Division 4, as well as possibly an an all-local championship game.

Big 5 and Charles Lakin tournament champion Del Norte has been handed a No. 2 seed in Division 4 and will have an opening-round bye before hosting either No. 7 Hoopa or No. 10 Swett next weekend.

The Warriors will host the Swett girls on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.

On the other side of the Division-4 bracket, Fortuna received the No. 4 seed and also will have a midweek bye before hosting No. 5 Piedmont next weekend.

That means if both Del Norte and Fortuna can win their opening two games they would face in the D-4 championship game in a rematch of Friday’s Charles Lakin final in two weeks.

Two other local teams will host their NCS openers.

In Division 6, the South Fork girls have received the No. 2 seed and will play No. 3 Point Arena in Miranda on Tuesday night at 5 p.m.

The winner of that game will advance to play No. 1 California School for the Deaf in the final of the three-team bracket next weekend.

On Wednesday evening, St. Bernard’s will host The Bay School at Samoa at 5 p.m.

The Crusaders are seeded No. 6 in Division 5, while The Bay School girls are seeded No. 11, and the winner of that game will advance to play No. 3 St. Vincent de Paul, which has an opening-round bye.

And rounding out the local teams that have qualified for the postseason, the McKinleyville girls are seeded No. 9 in Division 3 and will open on the road at No. 8 Sonoma Valley on Wednesday evening at 5 p.m.

The Big 5 champion Del Norte girls have an opening-round bye.

The St. Bernard’s girls will host their playoff opener on Wednesday.
