By Ray Hamill — The expected weekend weather has forced a change to the state playoff schedule.

The St. Bernard’s girls were originally scheduled to host Foothill in the Division-4 NorCal semifinals on Saturday night at 7.

However, with a winter storm warning in effect this weekend, the game has been moved forward.

Tip off at St. Bernard’s will now be 1 p.m.

UPDATE: The game has now been moved to Monday at 6 p.m.

The Cougars are traveling to Eureka from Palo Cedro, eight miles east of Redding.

The Crusaders are the top seeds in the NorCal Division-4 bracket and won both of their state playoff games this week.

On Tuesday, they defeated West Campus 55-39 and they followed that with a quarterfinal win over Lincoln on Thursday night by a score of 62-53.

Foothill is seeded No. 4 in the bracket and defeated Alisal 66-55 on Thursday to set up a semifinal showdown against the Crusaders.

As of Friday afternoon, there has been no change announced for Saturday’s state playoff game at Arcata High.

The Arcata girls, who are in the same bracket as St. Bernard’s, are seeded No. 2 and are scheduled to host Notre Dame on Saturday.

That game is still scheduled for 7 p.m., which will allow local fans to attend both games if they want to.

The Notre Dame Regents are traveling from San Jose.

The No. 14 seeds in the bracket are coming off back-to-back playoff road wins this week, knocking off No. 3 Escalon 47-40 on Tuesday and followed that with a narrow 47-46 win at No. 11 Riverbank on Thursday.

The Tigers, meanwhile, won a pair of close playoff games this week, both at home.

The Arcata girls defeated Bear River 51-48 on Tuesday and followed that with a 56-55 win over Mt. Diablo on Thursday.
