By Ray Hamill — St. Bernard’s senior Wyatt Simoni has been playing at an elite level all season and that continued to be the case on Saturday in a playoff win over Terra Linda at Crusader Field.
Simoni and his teammate wasted little time setting the tone and scored four first-half TDs on the way to opening up a 31-7 halftime lead.
The home team would add two more TDs on their first two possessions of the second half and won the game 45-7.
Check out all three of Simoni’s TDs above, as well as a 34-yard Luke Brunton TD run and a 16-yard TD pass from Brunton to Garrett Shanahan, who made a nice catch in the corner of the end zone on the play.
Rounding out the scoring, junior running back Luis Malko-Allen took a pitch from Brunton and threw a 69-yard TD pass to Tyler Maples on a trick play.
The win sends the Crusaders on to this weekend’s NCS Division-5 semifinals, where the No. 2 seeds will host No. 3 Analy at Crusader Field on Saturday.
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
