Cal Poly Humboldt junior Awelina Fakalata enjoyed a record-setting day over the weekend.
The Lumberjacks standout set new program record with an impressive 29 kills in a match at Chico State on Saturday.
The Jacks dropped the opening two sets but bounced back to force a fifth set before eventually falling 27-29, 22-25, 26-24, 25-22, 12-15.
It was, however, a memorable individual performance by Fakalata.
The Sacramento native, who joined the Jacks from American River College, had a .397 hitting percentage for the match and also finished with 22 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
Fakalata is an outside hitter who attended Cal Grande High School.
Wit the loss, the Jacks dropped to 4-8 on the season and 1-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Cal Poly Humboldt women will play two more matches on the road this week, traveling to Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday and to Cal State East Bay on Saturday.
