The College of the Redwoods women’s volleyball team will head into conference play with a little momentum.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Corsairs won a pair of matches at Marin, beating the host school and Los Positas.

The Corsairs won their opening match against the Mariners 25-13, 27-25, 22-25, 26-24, before topping the Hawks in straight sets, 25-10, 25-11, 25-15.

The two victories lift the CR women to 5-5 on the season, as they close out their pre-conference schedule.

Lily Larue led the way against Marin and finished with 10 kills, nine blocks and a pair of aces.

Molly Slayton, who has been one of the team’s most consistent players early in the season, continued to impress against the Hawks and finished with 31 assists and four blocks.

The Corsairs will now turn their attention toward the Golden Valley Conference.

CR opens at Butte on Oct. 4 and will play back-to-back home games against Feather River and Lassen on Oct. 11 and 13.
