For the second straight year, the Redwood Acres Raceway has been forced to cancel an event due to nearby wildfires.
This weekend’s Fan Appreciation Night, one of the most popular events of the season, has been canceled because CAL Fire is using the Redwood Acres fairgrounds as a staging base to help combat the fires currently happening in the region.
So far there has been no make-up date scheduled.
In 2022, the Six Rivers Lightning Complex fire forced the cancelation of two August race nights, including Fan Appreciation Night, which was eventually moved to September.
The next race at RAR is set for Sept. 9 and will feature the Upstate Bomber Series, the Legends and mini stocks.
That will be followed by the season finale event on September 23.
Any further changes or additions to the schedule will be announced as soon as possible on RacinTheAcres.com as well through the track’s Facebook page.
