By Ray Hamill — With the high school year coming to an end, it’s almost time for the annual Humboldt Sports Athletes of the Year awards.
Next week, we will be announcing our finalists for all six awards and we will begin announcing the winners early the following week.
As always, the six categories include Boys and Girls Big 5 and Little 4 Athletes of the Year, as well as our High School Coach of the Year and our High School Team of the Year.
A big shoutout to our three awards sponsors this year — DelReka Distributing, The Stove Doctors in McKinleyville and Mendes Supply.
Their generosity will ensure that all six winners will be presented with trophies/plaques in honor of their achievement.
