By Ray Hamill — Walk-off wins are always fun but especially when it sends you on to a North Coast Section championship game.
On Wednesday evening, while hosting just a second-ever playoff game at their new field, the Arcata Tigers did exactly that.
Sophomore standout Anthony Ebert hit a game-winning RBI single past second base to lift his team to a dramatic and thrilling 2-1 victory over Big 5 rivals Del Norte.

The Tigers will now play Justin-Siena in Saturday’s championship game at the Arcata Ball Park.
First pitch is set for 7 p.m.
The No. 3 seeded Tigers have posted playoff wins over Salesian (15-10), Healdsburg (6-2) and Del Norte.
The No. 5 Braves have beaten Berean Christian (10-5), Kelseyville (5-1) and Piedmont (11-10).
The Arcata boys are 23-6 on the season, while Justin-Siena is 15-9.
he St. Bernard’s Crusaders and Ferndale Wildcats will also play for an NCS championship on Saturday.
The two Little 4 rivals will face off at Crusader Field in Eureka at 1 p.m. in the Division-6 final.
This will be the fifth meeting between the two teams this spring, with SB taking all four previous games.
