An alumni game in late April will highlight the Cal Poly Humboldt women’s soccer team’s spring schedule, as the Jacks look to build on a successful 2022 season.
The spring season, which features nine games, will kick off on March 26 at Dominican University and will also include a home game against Santa Rosa JC on April 2.
The alumni game will take place at College Creek Field on April 29.
“We are excited to start our spring schedule at the end of March,” head coach Grant Landy said. “We have a big group this spring, so this will allow us to implement new ideas and move players around on the field from game to game.”
Landy won his 400th game as a coach this past fall, as the Lumberjacks qualified for the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament on the final day of the regular season for the first time since 2015.
And the head coach is eager to build on that success this year.
“Spring season is always important to the development of our group, both individually and collectively,” he said. “Since the start of this semester, the players have brought a good competitive mentality and work rate to each and every training session we have had. I know they are looking forward to getting back on the field together for games.”
The Jacks finished 7-5-6 in 2022, including a 4-2-5 conference mark.
The spring schedule also includes road games against Sierra College, Simpson University, Shasta College, Southern Oregon, Oregon Tech and University of Pacific.
The alumni game is set for noon.
