Local NCS playoff games on the radio this weekend

By Ray Hamill — Three high school basketball playoff games will be broadcast live on local radio this weekend, including two from the Bay Area.

The action gets under way on Friday night, with MIX 95.1 FM broadcasting the St. Bernard’s boys game in San Francisco. 

The Crusaders are the No. 9 seeds in Division 5 and will play at No. 1 Urban at 7 p.m., with the pre-game show starting at 6:45 p.m.

Tag Wotherspoon will call the action.

Two more games will be broadcast on Saturday.

Wotherspoon will be on hand once again when the Fortuna Huskies play University in Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco.

The Huskies are the No. 8 seeds in Division 4, while University is No. 1.

Tip off is also set for 7 p.m., with the pre-game show starting at 6:45 p.m.

Closer to home, John Pritchett and John “Mad Dog” Horner will call the action from the highly-anticipated fourth meeting of the season between the Del Norte Warriors and McKinleyville Panthers on KPOD 97.9 FM.

The Warriors are the No, 4 seeds, while the Panthers are No. 5, and the Big 5 rivals will tip off at 7 p.m.

The game will also be broadcast on DelNorteSports.com.
